A scientific symposium entitled “Sports Dentistry” was held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Riyadh Elm University. The symposium was attended by employees from the Ministry of Sport and Riyadh Elm University, and those interested in sports medicine.
Participated in moderating the symposium and presented lectures: Dr. Faisal Alshail, Director of Dr. Abdulrahman Al Saffan, Director of Community Service and Sustainable Development Center – Riyadh Elm University, Dr. Waseem Radwan, Chairman and Program Director of the Restorative Dentistry Department, College of Medicine and Dentistry – Riyadh Elm University, Dr. Ahmed Almokhatieb, Assistant Professor and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, Dr. Ahmad Assari, Assistant Professor in OMFS and Diagnostic Sciences Department, College of Medicine and Dentistry – Riyadh Elm University.
The symposium covered a wide range of topics in Sports Dentistry, including defining common oral health issues among athletes, improving our understanding of how sports affect oral health, using evidence-based treatment methods, emergency management of cases involving oral injuries, and preventive measures. The experience of Riyadh Elm University at the Saudi Olympics 2022 was also presented.
The symposium was held in collaboration between Riyadh Elm University and the General Directorate of Sports Medicine Affairs- Ministry of Sport, as part of the continuing education programs.
